She is very special to me for several reasons. She is the first and only (to date) Raggedy Ann doll that my grandmother has ever made. She has wonderful talent both in sewing and with arts and crafts, and has always shown great enthusiasm and interest in my Raggedy Ann and Andy collection.
My grandmother made Raggedy's dress out of an old dress that belonged to my Great Grandmother. She also dressed her in a graduation cap and gown whiched matched the set that I wore that day, and even paid such attention to detail that she found a pendant with the year 1987 on it to have dangle from the top of her tassle.
Graduation Raggedy Ann was very excited to celebrate my graduation from art school in June 1997.
