Greetings from Dayton, OH

We're here! After a 6 hour drive, we checked into our lovely Courtyard Marriott Hotel in beautiful Miamisburg, OH. We were actually pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel has been updated since we last came, and it's actually very nice. Bonus: Tammy brought her laptop (poor thing has to get some work done this weekend) and we have free high-speed internet in our room!

The drive was fun, and rather easy. We stopped somewhere in the middle of Indiana from some Frozen Custard! Mmmmmm. We checked into our hotel, and made our way out to dinner. We planned to eat at Truffles out in Centerville. This is a favorite restaurant of my friend, Sal, and I've had lunch here in the past. Last year, Tammy and I were denied because we arrived at 4:00 for an early dinner, only to find that they didn't open until 5:30. This year, I thought we were set: I printed out the menu and map, and noted their hours of operation. We drove around for about 15 minutes to find it - by this time we were both tired and very hungry. When we arrived at the address, we found that the business is either closed, or under renovation. Alas, no dinner at Truffles again for us. Denied for two years running!

By this time we were starved, and decided to eat at Fricker's, a local chain specialing in buffalo wings. After eating our dinner which consisted of chopped iceburg lettuce, and 6 fried chicken wings each, we were quite satisfied.

Tomorrow, we'll make our trek out to the state of Kentucky to do some serious shopping at the GAP Clearance Center. Tomorrow evening is all about color guard shows, and socializing with old friends!
