Spontaneous and random family gatherings

Cousin Bruce and Auntie Lani

In a fun and random chain of events, I managed to spend some nice quality time with two of my relatives today!

My Auntie Lani called me just after noon today, asking if I had lunch plans. She was in town for a conference and was able to leave a little early. She came over after 1:00, and we decided to head over to Queen Malika for crepes.

When we walked into the cafe, and told her that this was a favorite spot for Dick and me, and also that my cousin, Bruce, was a frequent customer here as well.

Auntie and I had a really nice, long, one-on-one visit. We don't get to do this very often, and we both enjoy it so much.

About 1.5 hours later, I saw Auntie's eyes light up, and she waved to someone outside the window.

Yep - Cousin Bruce was coming in! It was very funny. He usually stops by Queen Malika a couple of times a week, when he's in town, to get some work done. When he walked in today, he said, "Well, I can see I won't be getting any work done here today!"

The three of us had a nice visit - Bruce and I tried to explain the difference between Facebook and Twitter to Auntie, and also how each of them are used. It was fun.

A very Happy Belated Birthday, to my dear cousin, Bruce. (he hit a milestone yesterday.)

Happy Birthday, Boo!
